This matches our convention, makes diffs nicer, and reduces the noise when trying to find empty/removable files based (in part) on number-of-lines. In some of the files edited in this patch, there were just trailing whitespace characters after the final newline, so this patch deletes the trailing whitespace characters. While we're at it, this patch also switches some of the affected files to use our prevailing 2-space indentation-style (rather than 4-space).
